On Monday 14th May, 2018, at Southwark Crown Court, London, Jeremy Bedford-Turner was sentenced to twelve months imprisonment, six to be in custody, the rest to be served under licence. Better known as Jez Turner, Chairman and organiser of The London Forum, he was convicted of ‘Incitement to Racial Hatred’ under Britain’s increasingly contentious race hate laws.

The national leader’s words were spoken with great solemnity as the two men sat in a room of Oslo’s Grand Hotel on the 18* April 1940. Nine days earlier their country had fallen to the forces of the Third Reich, victims of a conspiracy masterminded by England’s unelected leader Winston Churchill.
August 1, 2016 marks the 80th anniversary of the opening day of1 the 1936 Berlin Olympics. The Berlin event was unique in that it boasted the largest number of foreign athletes in the history of the Olympics. The Berlin Olympic Village was so beautifully designed that every Olympic village since has been modelled on it. The Berlin stadium boasted seating for 100,000 spectators. Attending were four million fans and journalists from 41 nations. The Berlin Olympics was the first to be televised. Competing in the 1936 Games were a record number of participants: 4066 athletes including 331 women from 49 countries.

Due to his notoriety Adolf Hitler’s military service during World War One has been either blue pencilled or subject to negative spin. An objective account however is rather more interesting and perhaps reveals his empathy for militarism. When the 1914-1918 war broke out, Hitler, then twenty-five years old wrote: “For me it was a deliverance. I am not ashamed to say it today: I fell on my knees and thanked God.’
