In a town hall meeting in Freiberg on Thursday, the mayor Sven Krueger and other council members met to discuss legal measures to prevent further refugees being sent to their town.
Following the moves of other German cities, the town of Freiberg decided to take legal steps against the county of Middle Saxony, and the state of Saxony, to avoid the further distribution of refugees and asylum seekers. Krueger and his fellow council officials want to achieve an immigration stop to their town for four years and to demand a more just distribution within the state of Saxony.
