Ukrainians greet German troops as liberators from Soviet tyranny. People in Lvov (Lviv) or Lemberg in western Ukraine welcome the soldiers as they enter the city. Mass killings come to light. Just before fleeing the city, Soviet police used axes, knives and firearms to kill many Ukrainians in the GPU police headquarters. Bodies of victims are carried from the GPU building and laid out for identification. Enraged civilians round up and take revenge on those who had supported the Soviets. Ukrainians applaud as a Stalin statue is destroyed and a Soviet propaganda poster is torn down. On the night of February 13th, 1945 there began one of the most controversial raids of World War 2 – the bombing of Dresden. It is a controversy which still rages today. This documentary, taking into account the latest historical evidence, attempts to shed new light on this event.

Contemporary witnesses, previously unheard, describe the events and the terror of what it was like to be in Dresden through the night of bombing.

The film combines archive images of pre-war Dresden with a night of remembrance 45 years later in the Palace of Culture. Using information from Winston Churchill’s diaries the outspoken historian David Irving painted a comprehensive picture of the time, the background to the bombing, and the strategies employed.

Above all this film was made as a memorial to the loss of human life and of great works of art, and as a warning of the future. It is a demand for peace and a plea for humanity.

Lothrop Stoddard’s Interviews With Dr. Robert Ley And Heinrich Himmler

During his lifetime Lothrop Stoddard (1883-1950) was one of America’s most influential writers. He earned a doctorate from Harvard, and was the author of 15 books, including the much-discussed 1920 work, The Rising Tide of Color. He wrote numerous articles and essays, and was an editorial writer and foreign affairs expert for The Washington Star.

He soon broadcasted from Fascist Italy during the Second World War. His broadcasts were a mix of politics, personal commentary, anecdotes, and old fashioned wit. These were heard in England and America with his aim to try and enlighten people on why the war was fought and for whom. His message was against the hyper-internationalism that held the world hostage under the thumb of finance bankers and criminal politicians.

Remember the Wilhelm Gustloff, 1945

In the night of January 30th, 1945 while evacuating refugees from Eastern Germany, the Gustloff, which was designed to carry a max. 1,865 passengers, had 10,582 on board when she was torpedoed by Soviet sub S-13. An estimated 9,343 Germans, mainly civilians, including men, women, elderly, sick and wounded, and about 5,000 children, perished in the frigid Baltic Sea waters, making it the largest loss of life in a single ship sinking in maritime history.
