Even though we are told the economy is doing great, all the evidence shows that main street Americans are struggling more and more every day. A recent report claimed that the costs of goods have risen to the point that 25% must use debt to pay for necessities, such as food.
A growing list of individuals and groups in and outside the film industry are agitating against Georgia, including director Reed Morano and actors Alyssa Milano, Elizabeth Perkins, and Mark Hamill. Organizations such as the Producers Guild of America and the ACLU have also called for boycotts of Georgia over the state’s new “heartbeat” abortion law that bans abortion after a fetal heartbeat can be detected (usually around the fifth or sixth week of pregnancy). Disney CEO Bob Iger said on Wednesday that if Georgia carries out the state’s strict new abortion laws, telling Reuters that it would be “very difficult” for the company to continue filming in the state because “many people who work for us will not want to work there, and we will have to heed their wishes in that regard.”
