Bobby Fischer is seen by many as the greatest chess player of all time. Whether that is true or not, is impossible to know. But that he is the most famous, important and influential player of all time is not even up for dispute. He captivated the world with his prodigious talent and genius, and pretty much singlehandedly put chess on the map.

Όταν οι ακτίνες του ήλιου πέφτουν σ’ ένα βράχο, τον κάνουν να λάμπει. Όταν η φλόγα αγγίξει ένα άκαφτο κερί, το ανάβει. Όταν ο μαγνήτης αγγίξει ένα μεταλλικό αντικείμενο, το μαγνητίζει. Όταν το ηλεκτροφόρο καλώδιο αγγίξει ένα συνηθισμένο σύρμα, και τα δυο τους ηλεκτρίζονται.

Αναμφίβολα, για την κοινωνία της υλικής ευημερίας, της αφθονίας αγαθών, του υψηλού βιοτικού επιπέδου και της τεχνολογίας, ομιλεί ο Άγιος Κοσμάς στην προφητεία του. Αναφέρεται ειδικά, στην αρνητική μορφή κυβέρνησης του κόσμου. Για την κατανόηση της προφητείας, για το βαθύτερο νόημά της, χρειάζονται γνώσεις πολιτικές, κοινωνιολογικές, επιστημονικές και, το κυριότερο, εμπειρίες πνευματικές, που τις βιώνει μόνο ο άνθρωπος, ως προσπάθεια βιώσεως του υπερφυσικού και Θείου, εν Αγίω Πνεύματι, στα όρια της Ορθοδόξου πνευματικότητας.
The existence of God and His association to the universe is a subject that preoccupies a multitude of people nowadays. God however is not an object that we can examine scientifically in any kind of laboratory. As a free Being, He reveals Himself, to whomever He wants. Thus, it is entirely inappropriate to speak of evidence of the existence or the non-existence of God; we can only express logical thoughts regarding His person. Given that these are issues outside any human experience, it is imperative that such a logical survey be made, for those people who seek a logical reason for believing in a Creator.
