Το καλοκαίρι, εκτός από εποχή διακοπών, είναι και γεμάτο με μνήμες ιδιαίτερα λαοφιλών αγίων. Η επαρχία γεμίζει από κόσμο, ντόπιους και τουρίστες, αλλά η επίσκεψή τους συμπίπτει πολλές φορές με τη μνήμη-πανήγυρι του πολιούχου ενός χωριού ή πολλών και γραφικών εξωκλησιών στην ηπειρωτική και τη νησιωτική Ελλάδα. Όλοι μας, λίγο, πολύ, από τα παιδικά μας χρόνια μέχρι και σήμερα έχουμε να θυμηθούμε κάτι από τη συμμετοχή μας σε τέτοιες πανηγύρεις. Μερικοί μάλιστα δεν θεωρούν ότι έκαναν καλοκαίρι αν δεν βρίσκονταν στην πανήγυρι ενός αγίου που εόρταζε. Μέχρι εδώ όλα καλά, ευλογημένα και άγια.
