Σήμερα τίθεται ο θεμέλιος λίθος του Μουσείου του Ολοκαυτώματος στη Θεσσαλονίκη, μια πράξη με πολλαπλή σημασία, αφού οι περισσότεροι από τους Έλληνες εβραίους που θανατώθηκαν στα κρεματόρια του Χίτλερ, ήταν από τη Θεσσαλονίκη.
