Trotzig wehten ihre Fahnen,
Als sie senkten ihn ins Grab,
Und sie schwuren grimmig Rache
Für den Hitlerkamerad.

Er blieb Adolf Hitler treu.

As the golden evening sun
was sending out its last beams,
One of Hitler’s regiments
Marched into a little town.
Sadly their song rang
Through the quiet little town;
Because they were carrying to his grave
A Hitler comrade.
And to his mother who was far away
They sent their final message,
That her son fell proudly
Shot through the heart.
Their banners waved stubbornly
As they lowered him into the grave,
And they swore grim revenge
For the Hitler comrade.
You are not fallen needlessly,
They swore to him anew,
Thrice cracked the salvos,
He remained loyal to Adolf Hitler.
As the golden morning sun
Was sending out its first beams,
One of Hitler’s regiments marched
Back into the battle again.
