Τη νύχτα της 18ης προς 19η κοιμηθήκαμε «σαν πουλάκια». Αντίθετα με άλλες μάχες, που πολλοί ξενυχτούσαν πριν την επίθεση, τη φορά τούτη κοιμηθήκαμε σαν να είχε τελειώσει ο πόλεμος. Να ήταν η κούραση από τις νυχτερινές μετακινήσεις; Μπορεί. Αλλά ήταν και η ηρεμία ότι έρχεται το τέλος στα βάσανά μας. Και ότι θα είναι ένα τέλος θριαμβευτικό. Οι Αξιωματικοί του Λόχου είχαμε βολευτεί σε ένα καλύβι χτισμένο με λάσπη και κλαριά, που έμπαζε αέρα από χιλιάδες σχισμές. Κατά τις 4 το πρωί, με ξύπνησε ένας σύνδεσμος από το Τάγμα. Είχαν έρθει οι Διαταγές Επιχειρήσεων και ο Ταγματάρχης μας ήθελε να μας μιλήσει. Μαζευτήκαμε πίσω από ένα βράχο απότομο, κοντά στις προφυλακές.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry accused Ukraine of building concentration camps, where dissenting ethnic Russians would be imprisoned by the authorities. In reality, Ukraine simply continued its 2009 project of building small detention facilities for illegal migrants, designed to hold no more than 100 people at a time. These facilities are very similar to other such detention centers across Europe. Ukrainian government officials expressed their outrage at the depths of depraved, twisted imagination that birthed such a far-fetched fabrication.
