An investigative journalist, who went undercover to infiltrate violent leftist groups such as Antifa, has been found dead. Bechir Rabani infiltrated Antifa and was about to expose billionaire people trafficker George Soros when he died.
Not a great week for the FBI, encryption-wise. The same week it was revealed the FBI’s encrypted communications system was cracked by the Russians, a report by Joseph Cox of Motherboard details the agency’s failure to punch a hole in a phone company’s encrypted network.
Much of the attention concerning the crippling damage to Saudi Aramco facilities struck in last week’s aerial attack ultimately blamed on “Iranian sponsorship” by US and Saudi officials has focused on Abqaiq processing plant, but on Friday the first on the ground images from the kingdom’s giant Khurais oil field — the country’s second largest — have been revealed, showing scorched infrastructure, ruptured pipelines, and “a mess of oil melted to asphalt, twisted and charred metal grates” according to an on site Bloomberg report.
LRO’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera instrument, or LROC, imaged the intended south pole touchdown site for the lander, which is called Vikram, as planned yesterday (Sept. 17), Aviation Week’s Mark Carreau reported. But “long shadows in the area may be obscuring the silent lunar explorer,” Carreau wrote.
