Looking back at the failed Turkish coup, one question that nobody has been able to answer is why, if the coup was indeed aserious attempt at government overthrow, did the organizers not do the first thing that military coups have done since time immemorial: either capture, or simply eliminate the existing ruler, the vacationing president Erdogan?

Η εμφάνιση των Κολλυβάδων τον 18ο αιώνα στον αγιορειτικό, και ευρύτερα στον ελλαδικό χώρο σημειώνει μια δυναμική επιστροφή στις ρίζες της ορθόδοξης παράδοσης, στην ορθόδοξη πνευματικότητα. Το «κίνημά» τους, όπως ονομάσθηκε, ήταν αναγεννητικό, ως παραδοσιακό και προοδευτικό, ως πατερικό με μια λέξη: γνήσια ορθόδοξο. Στον δύσκολο για την εθνική μας Ιστορία 18ο αιώνα θέλησαν οι Κολλυβάδες να αντιτάξουν στο ρεύμα του άθεου διαφωτισμού τη μυστική εμπειρία της Ορθοδοξίας, της μόνης που σώζει τον άνθρωπο.
