Scuffles broke out on Saturday as “Generation Identitaire” (Generation Identity) supporters took to the streets of Paris to protest the planned dissolution of the far-right group by the French cultural marxist government.
It is estimated that between 1,500 and 2,000 people were present. Counter-protesters held an event nearby which was banned by police and the lawyer for the Yellow Vests Jerome Rodrigues, was arrested. There were altercations between the two groups of protesters.
Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin talked about the dissolution of the anti-immigration and anti-islamization group on Twitter on Saturday, February 13. He called the actions of the group targetting migrants ‘scandalous’.
